Chosen Times: Understanding the Jewish Holy Days

Rabbi Plavin will provide an overview of the year as practiced and experienced in the Jewish religion. The instruction will deal with rituals and the values they promote. Topics include:

  • How the calendar works and the Sabbath
  • The Days of Awe: Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur
  • The Three Pilgrimage Festivals: Pesach, Shavuot and Succot
  • The minor Biblical and post Biblical festivals

For the third session on December 3rd, please read the Black Panther Party’s Ten Point Program and compare it to Ferguson Action’s list of demands.
