This course will examine the theological underpinnings of the Black Lives Matter movement.
For the third session on December 3rd, please read the Black Panther Party’s Ten Point Program and compare it to Ferguson Action’s list of demands.
For those who missed the first and second sessions, please do the following assignments:
- Read Martin Luther King, Jr’s “Letter for A Birmingham Jail”
- Read Derrick Bell’s “Space Traders” or view the short movie based on it entitled “Cosmic Slop.”
- “Redempton Deferred: Back to the Space Traders” by Derrick Bell. (If you are having any trouble opening this reading, please contact Annie Gentile in the UUS:E office for an electronic copy.)
