At Unitarian Universalist Society: East we often speak about ways different groups of people experience oppression and discrimination, be it racism, homophobia, heterosexism, transphobia, classism, sexism. The list goes on. But what about those of us who don’t have these experiences? How can we be effective allies to people who do encounter oppression and discrimination? Each of us, at different times in our life, has opportunities to be an ally. This three-session course will explore what it means to be an ally. All are welcome. Facilitators: Rev. Josh Pawelek and the Welcoming Congregation Steering Committee.
