Insider’s Guide to Psychology,

Monday, October 7, 7-9 p.m.

Dr. Judy Robbins will give an overview of counseling psychology as it is today. A look at the intriguing history of the field will lend perspective and set a context. The talk will help people understand the confusion about who’s who in the field and what to expect from the different professionals. Judy will talk about interesting developments in psychology, what people can expect from psychotherapy, what she thinks works, and why. She will also address what to look for in a counselor and the interface between body, mind, and spirit. The talk will be followed with time for questions and answers.

A psychotherapist for 26 years, Judy holds a doctorate in counseling psychology. A practical person, Judy has relentlessly focused on sorting the most useful methods from the fads in her field. Although she works hard to be objective in her office, she will give her liberal UU bias free rein during this presentation.
