This course explores the earliest years of Christianity, when it was still a universalist sect of Judaism. Together we will read E. Bruce Brooks’ Jesus and After: The First Eighty Years, available at www.umass.edu/wsp/orders.html. As one reviewer has said, “This book reveals a Jesus compatible with science and Unitarian Universalism, a Jesus with urgent ethical relevance to our lives today.”
