Documentary Screening and Discussion of “A Self-Made Man”
Born female, Tony Ferraiolo identified as a boy and grew up bullied and isolated. At a crucial turning point, he heard an inner voice say, “Create yourself,” and he began his transition process. Filmmaker Lori Petchers tells Tony’s story in her documentary, “A Self-Made Man”. At this time of quickening in transgender awareness, younger kids are declaring their gender identities and families are struggling to adjust. Tony provides guidance for families to move forward together with love, empowerment, and compassion. Discussion led by Tony Ferraiolo. Co-sponsored with the Sunday Services Committee.
