Politics and Public AffairsThe Politics and Public Affairs Book Group provides an opportunity for those interested in politics, public policy, and public affairs to share ideas from the perspective of UU principles and values. Conversations are based on books selected for common reading, as well as reviews, columns, articles, and interviews available through the internet.

The Politics and Public Affairs Discussion Group meets in the Chapel. We’ll explore topics of interest.

The topic will be “dog whistle” politics, or the use of racial code words for strategic political ends, and is based on Ian Haney Lopez’ book, Dog Whistle Politics.
