Memorial Garden Trustees

Chairperson: Jeanne Pitney

Contact the Chairperson at JEPYAK58@SBCGLOBAL.net

Mission of this Group: The Memorial Garden Trustees are empowered to draw up and implement policies and fees for the use of the Memorial Garden.  The Trustees enter agreements with purchasers and maintain records.  The Trustees participate in seasonal maintenance of the garden area and add plantings as needed.  The Memorial Garden at UUS:E provides a natural area of beauty and dignity for the burial of ashes of society members, their significant others, and friends of UUS:E.

Programs, Opportunities, Activities and Work of the Group:
Meetings are held two to three times a year.  Clean up days are held every May and the Sunday in November before the Holiday Fair.  Volunteers are needed to join the committee. Volunteers are also needed to perform occasional weeding, trimming, raking and general garden maintenance.

Needs of the Group:
We are seeking volunteers interested in garden design and maintenance. We are interested in making the Memorial Garden accessible to all and will need to create a plan that can be incorporated in the building expansion plans.

Date: September 25, 2006.
