Drumming and Spirituality Workshop With Matt Meyer
Matt’s “Drumming and Spirituality” workshop is a chance for people of all skill levels to participate in hands-on rhythm-making. We will experience the spirituality of community music-making through different activities, stories, games and discussions as well as look at how rhythm and music intersect with Unitarian Universalist values. Bring your own drum if you have one- for those who don’t, enough will provided.
Matt Meyer is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and has studied abroad in Cuba, Ghana, and Central America. Matt has led hundreds services for UU congregations across the country and lives in Boston, where he plays with several world music groups. He is also a member of the UUA’s Council on Cross Cultural Engagement and is a board member and resident of the Lucy Stone Cooperative, a newly-formed Unitarian Universalist housing cooperative creating an intentional community and a center for social justice in the Boston area.
