Nearly seventy five bidders rushed to auction at the annual UUS: E Good and Services Auctionon Saturday evening, May 10. Bidders for the Silent Auction items circled the tables, seeking bargainsand enjoying a fantastic variety of appetizers and drinks. With 250 Silent items, there was something
for everyone. Joyce Kristof’s arrangement of the items and sign-up sheets ensured that everyone couldfind what they planned to bid for.
After a break, when chairs were set up, bidders enjoyed Bob’s Hewey’s running commentary
on the Live Auction items, which ranged from gourmet meals to skiing to cellar cleaning and sailinglessons. At the half point, the bidders enjoyed desserts and coffee, arranged by Gail Crook and hercommittee. The food this year outdid itself!
We anticipate as net profit a little over $14,000 making “Spring into Auction” the most successful auction ever. There are too many people to thank publicly but both Stan McMillen and CarolMarion stand out as the people who pulled it all together. Thanks, too, to the many generous bidders who made the auction a success.
